Fjord life for full sails!

Hop in a traditional wooden boat with the Limfjordsmuseum's maritime intermediaries. Rowing or setting sail, go on a beach hunt and eat over a campfire with produce from the fjord - a day full of fjord life and community! The activity will be repeated on October 13, 14 and 15 from 10am to 3pm.

What was it like to live by the fjord before you could buy everything in a supermarket?

At the Canal Service Houses in Lendrup, Limfjord Museum invites us to a day where we explore the old coastal life through practical experiences and community. We start from Frederik VII's Kanal, the historic and protected waters that have been an important part of life around Limfjord for more than 160 years.

Together we explore the nature and culture that has shaped life along the fjord. Our maritime mediators tell us about the people who walked on the water and about the traditions and skills that made it possible to live on and with the fjord.

It's not about doing things exactly as in the old days, but about trying them for yourself and getting a sense of how the fjord and the nature around it used to be a completely natural part of everyday life. What can we find along the banks? What can we use? And what can we learn from the people who came before us?
